A new member-Porous calcium carbonate2019-03-19 13:17:41
We all know that calcium carbonate is the main component of limestone. However, do you know porous calcium carbonate?
Porous calcium carbonate is a non-toxic and biocompatible material. It has good biodegradability and a suitable degradation rate. This makes the material widely available in many fields such as medicine, electronics, and ceramics. Before we get to know porous calcium carbonate, let's take a brief look at the treatment process of limestone with calcium carbonate as the main component.
After the limestone is mined, it needs to be processed through a series of processes such as crushing and milling.
In this process, we need to use limestone crushing and milling equipment.
Limestone grinding is generally divided into limestone coarse powder processing (0-3MM), fine powder processing (20 mesh-400 mesh), and ultrafine powder deep processing of limestone (400 mesh - 1250 mesh) and micro-powder processing (1250 mesh - 3250 mesh). The first stage: crushing. The large limestone material is crushed by the crusher to the incoming fineness (15mm-50mm) which can enter the mill. The second stage: grinding. The crushed limestone small pieces are sent to the silo through the hoist, and then uniformly and quantitatively fed into the mill grinding chamber through the vibrating feeder for grinding.
Our company, Shanghai Clirik Machinery, can provide the machine in these two steps. And our main products are limestone grinding mills/calcium carbonate powder making machine. Limestone high pressure grinding mill, also called limestone Raymond mill, has been chosen as the calcium carbonate powder processing equipment by many of our clients. This high pressure grinding machine, not only can process limestone, calcium carbonate, its triturable ores cover about 200 kinds which are required to be within Moh’s 6 in regard to their hardness.
How is porous calcium carbonate made, however?
The templating method is a common production process of relatively mature porous calcium carbonate. The principle of this method is: the surface of the selected templating agent is covered with a layer of calcium carbonate to form a core-shell structure; and the template is removed by solvent dissolution or high-temperature calcination to obtain particles of a hollow structure. The porous calcium carbonate produced by this method is mostly square or spherical.
Porous calcium carbonate is also widely used. The addition of porous calcium carbonate to the recycled paper can effectively improve the quality of the recycled paper, and improve the whiteness, ink absorption and hydrophobicity of the recycled paper.
